More WIP's....1930's style

I have tried to upload photos for 3 days. I finally was able to get blogger to work. I don't know what my issues were. Anyhow, these last few days have been full of 'spinning my wheels'. I was planning on going to a brand new quilt shop about 30 miles from here but it was snowing so heavy on Friday I just didn't think it was a good idea. A friend of mine whom lives very near the new shop DID make it. I asked her if they would be open today (Saturday) ugh nope....she has no employees yet and so not open Saturdays! Ugh my luck isn't so good. On top of that my gal that cleans once a week - quit. Hmm so now I have to find a new gal that I trust. I need better luck!

So the post is/was suppose to be about my WIP's and 30's so here we go............

I am a 1930's reproduction junkie....I have a gazillion projects made from 30's repros. Here is one I started using no pattern, just my own applique shape. The blocks are 6.5 inches. I have done at least 30 different fabrics for the dog...just pictured a few here. Now I just need to come up with a setting for them. Love them 'scotties. Cracker box block...this one I am foundation paper piecing. I have all the fabrics cut, just not all sewn yet.

A mini Dresden plate using English paper piecing. I love this pattern but again --stuck on the setting.
Ahhh and my one-patch....I started this about 10 years ago. My husband and I were on our first trip to Ohio to meet his family. I only owned about 15 - 1930's repros then...ah this IS the quilt that started this whole mess. I have about 1000 hexagons ready to be pieced. I hope to finish it within 10 years LOL!!!!

I'm sorry to hear that your quilt shop trip did not work out. Good luck with a new cleaning person!! I love all your projects and share your love with 30's fabrics. They are fantastic!! There is a couple of wonderful FREE patterns on P & B Textiles that you can download. They are 30's quilts. I especially like the one named Dot to Dot.

I LOVE your WIPs.. especially your hexagons.. I too have been working on a hexagon quilt forever (ok 4 years but it seems like forever).. I can't understand how people can't like 30's??? whats not to like? they all go together, and they are just too cute! 90% of my stash is 30's.. I am doing a miniature dresden too, ten petal 3" finished, I have about 30 done, just waiting to be appliqued.. you could always set them on point??? or just send them to me, I am always happy to adopt orphan blocks, tops and quilts.. LMAO

Love all of your WIPs! I have a cupcake quilt that needs to be quilted. I did finish up a quilt last weekend, from a freebie pattern online at Quiltmaker (Afternoon Tea) I'm going to give it to my MIL for her b'day this month. Started another last night with the same pattern, a girly girl quilt for me, with the A Henry line of lingerie fabric & polka dots & stripes in pastels. It's gonna be too cute! LOL
