They live 9 hours away so when they are here I make the most of it.
On top of that my littlest girl had a terrible fever for 4 days. We went to the doctor twice but all they could say is 'virus'. There is no more fever but she is terribly irritable..I think she needs to eat but hasn't gotten her appetite back yet.
So when I wasn't mothering the ill child....my niece asked me to show her how to make those "puff" things...yo-yo's! Yikes...you know I ♥ my yo-yo makers..and to teach someone else? well that was awesome. She took a charm pack of Neptune [her favorite ;) ] and a clover maker to make some at home. Someday maybe one of my girls will want to learn to hand sew...we'll see.

Glad to hear she is feeling better. Fevers can sometimes be quite scary. Looks like you did get a little sewing in and yo-yo's are fun to teach kids.
Glad to here the little one is over the worst of it! Your niece has great taste!
That's so sweet. It thrills me when children want to learn to sew.
I'm glad to hear your daughter is feeling better. What fun that your niece wants to learn! I'm sure your girls will too, someday. Amelia loves to sew on my machine. Hopefully in a couple of years, I can teach her how to sew "properly". For right now, she's happy just to sew on scraps, using all the different stitch designs.
I hope she is feeling better soon.
Hoping your DD is feeling better, I love to make yo-yo's too I just need to find more to do with them lol!
Hope your little girl gets better quickly! I love it when kids are interested in sewing, too!
You're definitely a bad influence and we love that!
Hey -- something funny happened when I clicked over to your site from google reader. It popped up a twitter username and password window. It doesn't happen with other blogs, just yours. I finally just clicked cancel and it went away. Don't know if you twitter -- could there be some conflict with a sidebar app or something?
How fun to be able to teach something that you love doing! I got the Yo-Yo Maker in the mail yesterday! It is so cute! Can't wait to make some big ones! My mom wants to try some, too! Have an awesome weekend and hopefully your little precious one will soon be better!!!
