My 9 year old picked out these fun novelty prints while we were in South Carolina. She is focused on making her sister a quilt.
The 9 year old is a self proclaimed vegetarian that eats chicken once in a while. She calls her 3 year old sister, a Dessert-itarian because she only wants sweets and candy and rarely touches meat or vegetables (okay it's not that said 3 year old is malnourished, it's just funny that the 9 year old calls the 3 year old a dessert lover AND wants to make her a quilt too ;)
I can't wait to see what she'll design with these.

Your daughter has great "taste", Vickie! Love those fabrics. I also can't wait to see what she makes with it.
That's going to be a fun quilt!
I can't wait either! I love those fabrics!!
What yummy, fun fabrics! I can see a future quilter budding here!
The Dude (14) is also a self-declared vegetarian (nothing cooked however) with chicken fingers about 3 nights a week. We are still waiting for him to outgrow this phase (but are no longer holding our breaths).
Love the fabric.
Great fabrics....your 9 year old made some fun choices. What a sweet thing to do for her little sister!
What fun fabrics - I can't wait either to see what she creates - how fabulous that she's ready to tackle a quilt at her tender age!
How cute!!! I really want to make a quilt like that for my kitchen! It think it would be very fun!
How 'sweet' of her to want to make her sister a quilt! I'm looking forward to seeing what she does with those 'yummy' fabrics! ;-)
Dessert-itarian = pretty hilarious. Great fabrics. Should be a really fun quilt!!!
Aren't kids great!! That fabric is so cute...and what a lucky daughter to be sewing at 9- Sandy
What a cute idea for a quilt. Love the term "Dessert-itatarian". I think I am one, too. :-)
What neat fabrics! It should be a lovely quilt!

LOL, I have a 3 year old "dessert-tarian too ;-)
How wonderful for your daughter to want to make her sister a quilt and at only 9 years old too!
I can't wait to see her progress!
Wow...haven't seen button candy in years. Had no idea they had a fabric print of them. Looks like excellent choices. We'd love to see the progress as it unfolds of this "sweet" project. Ps. What a nice sister!
Okay, I have looked all over the internet for the 'Simple Pleasures' stitchery book and can only find it in Australia! I even searched the shop you got yours at and no dice. Any suggestions...anyone? I love the prints your daughter picked out. It is so much fun to hear about young up and coming quilters. I will watch for some pictures of her progress. It is going to be adorable.
