It's a boy...gifts

*disclaimer
I may or may not have gone over board. AND I may make tons more in the next 2 months...

Here is a short stack of diaper/burp clothes.

I used an iron design for this onesie...

There was some effort in coordinating bibs, onsies and burp cloths.
I just love these bibs.
Can you see my error?
I made 2 one direction and one the opposite.
Do you think it will confuse my sister when she tries to put one on? LOL
I love this helicopter print, it's a Kokka fabric I bought about 2 years ago on sale 'just in case'.
And this lil onesie is custom....
I used a hoop and wrote out the saying, and stitched it with pearl cotton.

Now, I have heard there are some bloggers out there and readers too...that just can't believe all the "perfect" projects being posted on blogs.
Where are the mistakes you say.
Well I can certainly tell you...that I make my fair share.

The above picture is my case in point.
I put a hole in it.
I freakin' hole!!!
I about cried.
I was machine appliqueing on knit with a quilting needle...dah. stupid.
so I had to fix it or chuck it.

I put a hat on it!

These are great shower gifts. I personally think the robot put the hole in the shirt because he WANTED a hat and you just didn't know it. ;0)

Wonderful little baby gifts. The robot was just crying out for that hat. Looks great!

Thanks for showing your "mistake." I think it is good--especially for beginners--to see what experienced quilters/crafters do when they make a mistake. As you said, we either have to fix it or chuck it.

I have a project right now where I'm going to add a button to cover a hole if I can't come up with another idea. I think it's good that a little boo boo isn't the kiss of death for a project.

Oh...and your sister can never have too many burp cloths, bibs, etc. Keep sewing! :)

I have to ask where you got the bib pattern? I have my first grandchild coming and those bibs look like such a handy thing that I could make up!

Love these! Do you have a pattern for them or directions? I am going to be an aunt in August and would love to make some. The little robot is cute, a great disguise.

No blog Phoebe.
