That's right, Amazon Prime. My husband decided we needed Amazon Prime this year so that we could get 2 day shipping for free and other small perks.
Well it didn't take me long to figure out that there are hundreds of crafting, quilting and sewing books that I don't have in my book stash.
Okay I don't plan on buying hundreds.
I did get 'swindled' into buying 4 recently.
4!
{free shipping remember LOL}
It's been quite awhile since I purchased 4 quilt books at once.
I mean how could I make a project from each of them?
AND design my own,
AND use the ones I already own
AND make dolls clothes.
Clearly I don't need ANY new books and yet I am totally smitten with the 4 new books.
Then I skipped over to Modern Basics by Amy Ellis.
There are 3 quilts in this book I'd like to make.
Simply Charming.
I can not say enough good things about this book.
It's simple, organized fantastically and just packed with cute scrappy small quilts.
Then this one.
See a pattern here?
yeah it's a bad affliction.
And last but certainly not least. A Practical Guide to Patchwork by Elizabeth Hartman.
I have been resisting buy this book because...well I don't know why.
I just kept telling myself I didn't need it.
Then I decided I want to make a quilt for my office that needs to be modern and beautiful.
Scrap-Basket Sensations by Kim Brackett.
I LOVE the cover quilt.
I have already chosen the fabric I want to use.
Heather Bailey's first line Fresh Cut.
I bought a "jelly roll" from an online shop that cut them by hand.
Soooo glad I did. I have been looking for the 'right' project for this line and I think this is it.
Then there's Over and Under.
{sigh}
beautiful quilt.
I have no idea if I will make this quilt...but I HUGELY admire it. I love the colors....Amy Butler prints.

With tons of easy quilts in this book, this one grabbed my attention most.

That led me to Sunspot.
I am not sure if I am actually going to make this quilt the way Elizabeth layed it out.
I might not make it at all.
But in case I want to....I have the book and I don't regret it one bit.

Oh lovely books
We have Amazon Prime and we love it!! You made some really good choices in books too! Can't wait to see them all made up!
I too just purchased 4 quilting books from Amazon, but gave up my Amazon Prime membership this year. Without it I must wait 8-10 days for the free shipping :-(
The 4 books I ordered are all from That Patchwork Place: Tea in the Garden, Pennies from Heaven, Country Threads Goes to Charm School, and Civil War Sewing Circle. Can't wait to get my hands on them! Enjoy your new books!!!
I have the Scrap-Basket Sensations too and can't decide what to make first! And I have the Practical Guide to Patchwork. Both awesome books. We have to make something out of every book we buy?
Must.Stay.Away.From.Amazon! But I really want to shooppppp!! I could always use a new book to drool over.
I know what you mean! I got sucked into buying 3 books yesterday (The Practical Guide to Patchwork, Modern Basics, and Simplify). Amazon just makes it so easy, and free 2-day shipping!!! I find myself buying without even thinking! :)
Hi Girlie!
So many quilts, so little time! They are all fabulous :0)
XOXO,
Stefanie
I was going to place an order with Amazon today, but now I'll have to rethink it and maybe add in a few of these books! They look great! I don't know about Amazon Prime. I'll have to look into it. Thanks, or not LOL!!, for the suggestions :)
Nice book choises! The Sunspot quilt would be a nice addation to any doctor's office, espically if you have nervous folks coming in to you office. Keeps their eyes busy while their nerves reside.
They all look great!
I love getting new books too!! :)
I've been dreaming of that quilt since I've seen it...the one in Modern Basics, but I'm not buying any more fabric or starting anything new until I finish what I have going on. As a matter of fact, I shouldn't even be on here, cause I'm finding more and more things I want to create! AH! I'm signing off now. Maybe I'll catch up with you in a month, when I'm ready for something new! LOL. Here's to finishing what we start!
Hey! I'm so glad you found 3 quilts you want to make in my book! Thanks for posting about it!
Looks like you have a treasure trove of books!
I've only just heard about Amy's Modern Basics and, yep, great quilts!
Hugs
Gerry
