Scraps.
We are all practically drowning in our scraps of fabric.
I decided to get a grip on my scraps in the last few months.
I hate to part with even the smallest pieces.
These lovely Flutterby fabrics by Tula Pink are the strips that were left over from the original Spanish Tiles quilt.
I just randomly sewed them into strips and strips into rows.
Once I decided what size I wanted to fit the IKEA doll bed,
I realized that it was a bit too long, so I cut it off and put the extra on the back!
This set is for my 10 year old, she requested the greens and this fabric.
I made her coordinating pillows and pillowcases in Neptune by Tula Pink.
In case you are wondering the IKEA doll bed fits an 18" American Girl Doll.
This is about the extent of my sewing lately.
Doll quilts, pincushions, hand piecing and small stuff.
Big/bed quilt mojo is out the window...hoping market will boost my quilt love and spirits.

My grand daughter has the same Doll bed and I made some quilts for her too. We painted hers white and put her Dolls name on the foot end.
Love the little quilt.

I love it! Scrap quilts are always so sweet looking and that made a great doll quilt. :)
Sooo cute!!!! I love the fabrics too.
Thank you for a great idea! I also have a granddaughter with a couple of these dolls and I love making little quilts for them. (almost instant gratification!)
Very cute, Vickie. I'm sure your daughter was thrilled. I made a quilt for Amelia's baby crib. She picked out all the fabrics used (NOTHING matches on it) and I practiced my free-motion quilting. Oh boy. I need lots more practice!
Adorable!
I was wondering where I could find that bed..thank-you! You've done a beautiful job of making it up. I Hope your daughter has lots of pleasure using it. I'm at a similar stage to you creatively, just skirting the edges a bit trying to get skills and courage to make the plunge into the "big" quilt. Thanks for sharing, its really encouraging. I just keep taking small bites for now and I think I'll know when to plunge in.
Love ideas for scrap quilts...
Toni
