I found some cross stitch pillows that I made when I was probably 14 years old! The largest is about 2" x 2".
I made all sorts of decor for my dolls.
And check out these dolls....
circa 1980's
vintage.
I even bought furniture on clearance in case I had a little girl someday.
My 11 year old loves them.
These dolls were my mother's. I can not remember the name of them but they are about 50 years old. I did not give these to my girls. They are pretty important to me due to their age.
Have you saved any dolls from your childhood?

Loving the vintage Barbies. I gave mine away to a younger cousin when I was 14 and she destroyed them. :(. I wish they still had clothes and accessories in the stores like they did back in the day. I remember walking to Bradlees with a couple of bucks in my pocket to get Barbie a new outfit.
Yep.... I saved all my dolls. Cabbage patch dolls, Mandy Doll, Barbie, Ken and Skipper and Holly Hobby.
Cute little pillows!!
Love the vintage Barbies! I have mine from the mid-70's (and a set of ''Sunshine Family'') and a Barbie van too. I also have a set of those wicker furniture! LOVE them!!! I had two boys, so mine are still in the closet patiently waiting for the day I have granddaughters :)
I saved the only doll that was my OWN ( I have five sisters) and was very upset and disappointed to one day find her disintigrated while wrapped in her quilt in a closet. She had ONE too many baths!
Before Barbie, we had Sindy dolls and her little sister... Skipper? not sure on that name. Maybe your Mother's dolls are Sindy dolls. I can't be sure, because I didn't have any, but they were around approx 50 yrs ago.
I still have my first doll, a brown plastic doll with moulded hair, and I have my Walking Mama doll. :)
I don't remember what happened to my Barbies. I feel like I got them from my mom's house a while ago, but I have no idea what happened to them. Love yours.
I just gave the last one to one of my grand-daughters! I have 3 grand-daughters & 2 of them (11 & 8) just don't like dolls. But the sweet 9 year old loves it. She hand-carried her home on the airplane!
I have Barbies from the early 1960s along with Tammy and her little sister Skipper! I think the other one is called Francie. She was a Barbie wannabe. I only had sons but now I'm waiting (not too patiently) in hopes for granddaughters some day who will love to play with these.
Your xstitch pillows are too cute!
I save my Barbie's also.
The dolls of your mothers are Dawn dolls. I saved mine also. And yes, they are about 50 years old.(that was hard to type)
Yes I have all my dolls! I love to go through my Barbies especially! Love the clothes that were made by my aunt and the carrying case that my dad made me for them! What great memories!
I have all of my barbies & sindy dolls from my childhood. I've given one of them to the twins so far but thats because my girl received a barbie for xmas & my boy wanted one too so now they have one each. They won't be having the rest for at least 10 more years. I'm glad I kept them & all of their clothes & accessories :)
Many thanks for the quick trip down memory lane.
I was too old to play with Barbie when she was introduced, but I have my beloved Terri Lee doll plus the trunk with all the handmade clothes my mother sewed. They are among my "treasures" for sure. In the mid-late fifties, most girls I knew had Terri Lee dolls, they were the thing then.
I am saving my barbie horses for my girls. All the barbie's had been 'restyled' so we didn't save those, LOL! Those cross stitch pillows are great!

I had that same wicker furniture for my Barbie's! Fun to see all your goodies.
I have my original barbie and Ken dolls from 1959, with their boxes. I also made blankets and pillows for them. And some of my earliest sewing lessons with my mom was making barbie clothes.
Have most of my favorite childhood dolls. From my Baby Dear doll to all my Madame Alexander shelf dolls. Didn't get into the Barbies but was given one with the "bubble" hairdo for a birthday. I made several oufits for her and mom made quite a few sweaters. She was very well dressed but was some how lost when given to younger sister when I left home to get married.
We must be the same age, as I had the SAME Barbie furniture. What a blast from the past!

Yes, your mother's dolls are Dawn dolls. My sister and I used to have them and loved them. I think my mother put them on a yard sale. Someone got some nice dolls, we used to take really good care of our dolls and they were spotless.
There's little from our past as special as our dolls! Mine were my first babies, after all. I have my first baby doll, but she was loved to pieces, unfortunately!
