Winner announced
Yep today I am priveleged to give away ANOTHER copy of Simply Charming Minis.
You might remember that I gave one away in early June as a special treat from Konda.
I was so happy when she asked me to partake in this one too.
I thought this round I would show you my favorite 2 projects from the book.
Mini Baskets is the first.
I have been thinking I will do this one in Cuzco by Kate Spain.
I've already sorted the charms....
so there is a good chance I will sew it soon.
And my second is Mini Flower Garden.
I haven't picked fabric for this one....
I think is may come out of scrap fabric.
I have some strip and squares of Gypsy Girl left so we'll see.

I tend to be drawn to cool colors all the time, but for minis I like bold warm colors like red, yellow, even orange.
I think I would use Vintage from Camille and her Mom for a mini - it would be bright and cheery!
I actually think I'd like to use Civil War fabrics. Thanks for the giveaway :-) This book looks so awesome!
I'm with Happy Cottage Quilter...a Civil War mini quilt is on my TO DO LIST!! I would love to make the flower quilt in scrappy colours...so sweet!

I think Sweetwater's Lucy's Crab Shack would be great for a mini quilt. I love their colorings.

Ruby remains one of my favourite lines and I think it would look great in a mini quilt!

For a mini I would like to experiment with oranges, yellows and pinks.....I tend to use more blues, greens and purples...Minis would give me the opportunity to play with other color options. :D

I'd be tempted to try out some low volume fabrics - you know the lovely ones that won't fall into lights or darks, but you'll get the effect without stepping back a mile like you would with a larger quilt!
I'm feeling daring at the moment, so I might use orange, purple and lime green for a mini.
I think I'd give it a go in solids - probably blue, grey and yellow

How is it that I have not heard of this book before now? I love mini quilts, so this would be perfect for me! Lately I have been working with Civil War fabrics and I see several patterns that would work well with those fabrics, but I think it would be fun to work with some bright colors with the mini flower garden too!
I always use brights, so maybe I should stretch myself and use Civil War prints to get out of my comfort zone. Thanks for the chance to win- I'm working on small quilts these days in an effort to decorate our house a little more (my husband is tired of bare walls!).

I would use my Summersville layer cake
I want to do them in burgundy and off-white so that they can hang on my bare walls in my living room. I could add in a little bit of light brown as well as I have coffee colored floors.
I am addicted to Lucy's Crab Shack at the moment so would go with that but I also think the Civil Way fabrics would be beautiful to use. Thanks!

I'd use Civil War style fabrics for anything that would be displayed in the main part of my house. And in my quilting room it would be something colorful and funky.

This time of year I love everything patriotic, red, white and blue. I made a darling red, white and blue quilt with tessellating stars that I love.

Well I'm wanting to make minis to hang as art in my living room and I'm thinking the beautiful Neptune by Tula Pink colors, blue, green and coral. I have a few charm packs and have waiting for the perfect project, looks like this book might have one or two in it!

I would use pinks and reds.
I have a lot of blue in my house, so I tend to go that direction. Perhaps a blue and white, or if I am in the mood will go with a more seasonal colorway, depending on the season.

I am going to have my first grandbaby in November. I would choose lively vibarant colors including pinks and purples. The 1930 reproductions fabrics would work very well. for either the small baskets or the flower quilt. Thank you for offering the book. I love small quilts, and this would be charming (no pun intended, maybe :-) on my Grand daughters nursery wall. Thank you.

I'd use reproduction feedsack fabrics against a white background. It would look kind of like a modern Grandmother's Flower Garden!

I would use civil war fabrics to make one of those cute minis.
I would use some of the French General jelly roll I have left from and earlier project. It is red and blue and tan.

This book of minis is meant to help me whittle my Christmas list down to size! Weeeeooo! But I would use only reds and whites.
i think i would use earthtones, blues and yellows for the sun and sky and tans and greens for the ground and foliage. makes me thing of my surroundings and brings a pleasant warm feeling to my soul. thank you.

I just bought a few Civil War charm square packs. I'd try a Civil War mini, I've never used Civil War fabric before. I love that you can use different fabrics and in a minimum amount of time have a finished quilt. Mini's give you the freedom to try many patterns and fabrics in less time. Yay! Thanks, Toni Anne
