Aurifil thread.
Apparently I use A LOT of Aurifil 50wt.
I'm ready to started my 3rd cone of 3000 yards!
I love Aurifil.
What kind of thread do you use?
I started out with polyester thread years ago and advanced to Mettler for while.
Once I bought my Janome I found that Mettler mucks it up.
I tried Connecting threads brand of thread but it breaks a lot in my machine.
My mother in law swears by Connecting threads for her machine.
I have friends that love Gutermann thread.
It's interesting how finicky our machines can be.
Anyhow, it's Aurifil for me.

I have been using Aurifil, and buy the cones. A friend just blogged about Presencia thread, 60 weight 3 ply (Aurifil is 50 weight 2 ply). I really value her opinion, and she raved about it, so I ordered a cone. She claims it is as strong as the Aurifil, fits even more on her bobbin and sews like a dream. The proof will be in the sewing! http://www.presenciaamerica.com/Quilting-Sewing-Thread/
Aurifil! I use it for all of my piecing and often on the bobbin for quilting, sometimes on the top too. Love it.
I love the Bottom Line by Superior. It works great and it is pretty clean in the machine.
I use coats and clark cotton thread. I get the big spools at JoAnn for $3 when they run their 50% of thread sales. It's pretty linty but it fits my budget. Would love to try some Aurifil one day!
Connecting Thread cone here. One of these days I will try Aurifil.
I love the Aurifil, buy it by the cones too. I'd luv to try the Presencia 3 ply 60 wt. I luv the Presencia Perle cotton. Happy stitching, Pauline
I haven't reid Aurifil. My Bernina likes Guterman 100% Cotton.

I use Aurifil almost exclusively now since my machine loves it. I have never seen the 3000 cones...can you recommend a source to purchase from?
I l.o.v.e. Aurifil, and so do my Janomes and Handiquilter. Except for prewound bobbins for the Handiquilter, I only use Aurifil. Both my Janomes refuse to sew with Mettler, even though it's supposed to be a good thread. Picky, picky!
I love Mettler Cotton Silk Finish. It's always worked well in my Singer and Pfaff. The light grey color is perfect for piecing with any color fabric. I may give Aurifil a try. I've heard a lot of good things about it.
Aurifil thread is my absolute favorite. Guitermann is fine for a second choice. Connecting Threads thread is too thick. I'll stick with Aurifil, worth every penny.
Been using Aurifil for 5 years now, and have been buying the large cones since then. Just placed an order last week, as my 5th cone is about to run out. Love it!! And so does my machine.
I had trouble with Aurifil in my Bernina 820. Then the Bernina tech said he likes Mettler or the "not so fussy" Bernina 780. So 11,000 dollars later and i can use Auriful!! But if I am short of cash I use Mettler. I quilt with Superior. It quilts wonderful in this machine.
I use a Husqvarna & trend towards the Gutermann, but am totally going to have to try out the Aurifil - thank you so much for the suggestion. I have been frustrated with the Gutermann if I do applique work or use the embroidery feature on my machine & I just couldn't understand WHY when it was supposed to be the "best" thread available. Thanks so much for the suggestion!!!
I love aurifil too. Do you use a big cone on a regular size machine?
I'm with you on the Aurifil as well. My machine loves it.
I love cones. . how do you thread that into your machine?
Where do you find these beauties?
Connecting Threads thread broke in my Janome too. I switched to a size 14 needle and haven't had that problem but mostly I use Auriful. I just have more colors in the CT because it's cheaper.
